St Johns
Yacht Club
Live electro-hip hop. Fully self-contained. We bring the sound system, the visuals, and the energy. You bring the room.
—— Who We Are ——
What We’re About
St Johns Yacht Club is a Portland-based live electro-hip hop duo rooted in the St Johns neighborhood — a working-class, river-adjacent community in North Portland.
Chris McMurry primarily handles production, DJ sets and live instrumentation. Elin McLain is a true emceee and leads vocals and plays live percussion. Together they’ve built a monthly residency, a physical media label and a growing community of people who show up because the music is worth it.
SJYC doesn’t do background music. Every set is live, every night is different and every room leaves changed.

What a SJYC Booking Looks Like
We come to you. Fully self-contained. No venue PA required, no green room demands, no excuses. We need a space and a crowd — everything else we bring.
Live vocals, original electronic production, live percussion and DJ capability — all in one set. Two hours of original music, custom set length, built around your event.
2×12″ mains, 18″ sub, projector with atmospheric visuals loop, 6,000W battery power pack. No generator noise. No venue power dependency. We show up ready.
Not a cover band. Not a DJ with a playlist. A live act that reads the room, builds energy, and makes your event feel like something people talk about for weeks.
